A friendly 17km guided gravel ride starting in Barnard Castle, visiting the stunning Bowes Museum, before travelling river side along the river Tees to the Old Chapel Café in Cotherstone.
Explore Teesdale by bike on this scenic mixed-terrain ride from Barnard Castle to Cotherstone. Starting at The Bowes Museum, the route follows the River Tees on quiet lanes, bridleways and old railway line, with a relaxed café stop before returning to Barnard Castle with beautiful castle views along the way.

Surfaces | Quiet lanes, gravel tracks, grassy bridleway, old railway path, gates, puddles and a couple of short push sections. There are steps to the old railway line where we will need to push our bikes and we will need to carry the bikes up a couple of steps at the bridge at Barnard Castle. Alternative routes can be provided.
